Originally from Kansas City, Randy became serious about harmonica during a seven year stay in Chicago where he fell under the spell of Little Walter and a few of his disciples. He has worked in a broad range of settings from Postwar Chicago Blues to Modern Jazz, to turn of the century Salon Music. Recording credits include records with Jazz vocalist Karrin Allyson, BCR and others.

Born in Birmingham Alabama, Bob started playing the guitar at age seven. He attended the Berkeley School of Music, and has been a long-time presence in the Philadelphia music scene. Bob cites among his many influences: Charlie Christian, Scotty Moore, Hubert Sumlin, James Burton, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and Howlin' Wolf.

Jon has been a performing and recording musician for over thirty years. His range of expertise keeps his guitar equally in demand as a jazz, rock, or bluegrass performer. Jon has appeared in and played on the soundtracks for the movies-- "The Rose" with Bette Midler and "They All Laughed" with Audrey Hepburn and Dorothy Stratton. Out of the Frying Pan is Jon's second album for Rounder. This all-instrumental CD features David Grisman, Andy Statman, Tony Trischka and Kenny Kosek. His first Rounder album was Catfish for Supper. Records by Esther Phillips, Melissa Manchester, Sonny Stitt, Maria Muldaur, Kate & Anna McGarrigle and Allen Ginsberg feature Jon's guitar playing. Recently Jon played on the soundtrack for "The Rookie" with Dennis Quaid.

Josh has a degree in composition from Virginia Commonwealth University, and attended Middlesex University in London, where he studied electronic music composition. His interest in free reed and other little-known instruments began while he worked at the Hohner company for seven years as an accordion and harmonica technician. His various musical projects have included, folk, rock, modern music ensembles, experimental cabaret, film, theater, and dance. Joshua is a founding member of the band One Ring Zero.

A native of Portland Oregon, Henry has lived and performed in New York City for the past 20 years. He was one of the founding musicians in the band Helmet, and recorded several major label albums with the group. He left Helmet to form the band The Moonlighters which plays Hawaiian Swing, the band has recorded two self produced CD's. Among his performing credits, Henry has worked with Greg Gerring and the Howard Fishman Quartet, and played steel guitar on The Melvins CD "The Crybaby" along side Hank Williams the third.

One of today's most wide-ranging and astonishing instrumentalists, Scott Robinson has been heard on tenor sax with Buck Clayton's band, on trumpet with Lionel Hampton's quintet, on alto clarinet with Paquito D'Rivera's clarinet quartet, and on bass sax with the New York City Opera. On these and other instruments including theremin and ophicleide, he has been heard with a cross-section of jazz's greats representing nearly every imaginable style of the music, from Braff to Braxton. Scott has been heard numerous times on film, radio and television, and his discography now includes over 135 recordings. His four releases as a leader have garnered five-star reviews from Leonard Feather, Down Beat Magazine and other sources worldwide. The newest, Melody From the Sky (featuring the seldom-heard C-Melody saxophone), was recently the subject of a Wall Street Journal article by Nat Hentoff. A respected performer in all areas of jazz, from traditional to avant-garde, Scott Robinson has arrived at his own unique musical voice which, as once described in a Northsea Jazz Festival program,"combines solid foundations with great daring."

Drummer/Composer/Educator William "Beaver" Bausch blends his love for jazz and other American music with a passion for Afro-Cuban and Brazilian folklore. He is a founding member of Grupo Los Santos, the New York City jazz quartet that plays Cuban and Brazilian music. He has played with master trumpeter Donald Byrd, bass great Phil Bowler, Cuban trombone master Juan Pablo Torres, the Mambo All-Stars, the Boys Choir of Harlem, Harvie S, and Ben Lapidus y Sonido IsleŇo. Bausch's recording credits include Noches en el Taller by Grupo Los Santos, Funky Cha by Harvie S (Zoho Music), Blue Tres and Vive Jazz, both by Sonido IsleŇo.

Born and raised in New Jersey, David can be seen most often with the Broadway Musical "Chicago" and heard on nearly all the "Blues Clues" CDs. Some of his musical meanderings have been with André DeShields, Howard Johnson and LaMont Young. He was a bassist / tubist in the last aggregate of the "Spike Jones" band. He is also the leader of the band and concept "Tubaczar". David holds various degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.

Since moving to L.A. in '84 Bill Barrett has performed with a wide range of sonic luminaries, from Anthony Wilson to the L.A. Philharmonic. Bill has recorded with such new music innovators as Nels Cline, Vinny Golia, Eugene Chadbourne & Oliver Lake & has released many genre bending records on the SST & Ninewinds labels. He currently plays in several innovative groups including Marc Ford's Neptune Society, Steuart Liebig's Mentones and his duo with Scot Ray, Gutpuppet.

Pete Smith is a New York City-based guitarist who performs in a wide range of musical settings. A founding member of Grupo Los Santos, a vanguard Afro-Cuban and Brazilian-style quartet, he has played New York's Town Hall and concerts throughout the U.S. and in Cuba. For the last 10 years he has been a member of bassist Phil Bowler's band Pocket Jungle, performing at the New Haven and Hartford jazz festivals. He has worked with Norah Jones, Donald Byrd, Juan Pablo Torres, Andrew Hill, Steve Davis, Bill Charlap, The Flying Neutrinos, Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks, the Moonlighters and Madeline Peyroux. Pete's recording credits include Juan Pablo Torres' BMG release "Together Again", featuring Arturro Sandoval and Chucho Valdes, Kerry Pollitzer's "Yearning", and Paul Carlon's "Looking Up".

Richard Huntley is New York City based percussionist who plays a wide variety of music including Jazz, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, klezmer and other styles. He has recorded and or performed with John Benitez, Luis Bonilla, Cameron Brown, Billy Drewes, Frank London, the Kleztraphobix, Hector Martignon, Mulgrew Miller, Dom Salvador, and Jack Wilkins. He is on the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music, and is a visiting instructor at the Fokemusicksolen in Arhus, Denmark. He has a M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music.

Originally from Northern California, Michael Gomez has been living in New York City for seventeen years. Apart from HAZMAT modine, he is currently playing with Greta Gertler & The Extroverts, his own band Wormwood and in a side-project with members of Ween. A highly sought-after and versatile guitarist, he has shared the stages of Joe's Pub, CBGB's, Barbes, The Living Room, Tonic, The Knitting Factory and many other venues, with amongst others: The Moonlighters, members of the Mink Lungs, The Bootleg Remedy, Slavic Soul Party!, and Jack Grace. He a long-time student and disciple of Mike Longo, Dizzy Gillespie's pianist/arranger. Michael's fluid technique encompasses a remarkable range of styles and musical vocabulary, from Delta blues to Gypsy swing to Sun Ra. His subtle and unique approach to tone and rhythm, plus the breadth of his influences, make him a key, anchoring component of Hazmat Modine.
